Illustration of the first six incarnations of Vishnu from the book "History of Costumes of Peoples Throughout the Centuries" by Paolo Lorenzini, Nerbini Publishing House, Florence, 1934. The incarnations of Vishnu were 21: the first as a fish to save King Sattiaviraden and his wife from the flood, the second as a tortoise, the third as a boar to defeat the giant Ereniacsciasen, the fourth as half-man and half-lion to tear apart the giant Ereniano, the fifth as a dwarf Brahmin and then as a giant to humiliate the giant Bely.

Le incarnazioni di Visnù furono 21: la prima il pesce per salvare il re Sattiaviraden e sua moglie dal diluvio, la seconda in testuggine, la terza in cinghiale per sconfiggere il gigante Ereniacsciasen, la quarta volta in mezzo uomo e mezzo leone per sbranare smpre il gigante Ereniano, la quinta volta in bramino nano e poi in gigante per umiliare il gigante Bely.
