Description
Illustration of Germanic people from the book "History of Costumes of Peoples Throughout the Centuries" by Paolo Lorenzini, Nerbini Publishing House, Florence, 1934. The ancient Roman writers were unanimous in stating that the Germanic people had a giant stature and strength greater than the average, very blonde hair, and blue eyes. Their clothing consisted of short tunics tightly fastened at the chest by a belt or a wild animal's hide, with much of their bodies uncovered even in winter, while children were always naked.
