Illustration of Roman braziers from the book "History of Costumes of Peoples Throughout the Centuries" by Paolo Lorenzini, Nerbini Publishing House, Florence, 1934. Roman braziers were made of iron or bronze. In winter, they were moved from one room to another for heating. The second one depicted is shaped like a small fortress, with four hollow towers at the corners where water was heated. The water could be drawn from a small side tap. Each tower had a liftable lid

I bracieri romani erano di ferro o di bronzo e in inverno venivano trasportati da una stanza all'altra per il riscaldamento. Il secondo riprodotto รจ a forma di piccola fortezza, con quattro torri vuote agli angoli in cui si metteva a scaldare l'acqua che veniva estratta dal piccolo rubinetto laterale. Ogni torre aveva un coperchio sollevabile.
