Racconta la vicenda di Fortunato, contadino povero e pio, che a Natale riceve in dono da uno sconosciuto delle ricchezze come premio per la sua fede e il suo lavoro. Col tempo, egli diventa però arrogante e, per questo, al Natale successivo il dono gli viene sottratto ed egli torna allo stato di miseria e fede iniziali.

It tells the story of Fortunato, a poor and pious farmer, who at Christmas receives a wealth from a stranger as a reward for his faith and work.
